One of our clients is looking for a Sous Chef.  Please note that if you do not have experience in this field, your application will not be considered.

Sous Chef Required for upmarket Hotel with on site steakhouse – Zululand 

  • An ability to stay calm and work under pressure.
  • An ability to take direction.
  • Work in a TEAM environment.
  • Manage the day-to-day kitchen operation, coordinate food production and ensure the highest level of food quality, taste and presentation.
  • Ensuring your kitchen TEAM produces food to a high culinary standard through coaching & discipline.
  • Ensure all kitchen TEAM adhere to the company’s uniform, grooming & appearance standards.
  • Control of food cost through monitoring production, training of kitchen TEAM on the proper methods of food preparation and handling.
  • Purchase requisitions, daily, weekly and monthly stock takes
  • Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment, including all store rooms at all times.
  • Managing the kitchen HACCP plans.
  • Menu development and costing
  • Daily checks for maintenance issues, reporting & follow-up.
  • Meeting & Greeting all arriving guest with specific dietary requirements.
  • Successful candidate must be able to start employment by no later than 16 November 2015
